Looks like owners of the Verizon-flavored Motorola XOOM are getting some good news to help them make it past the Wednesday hump. According to Droid-Life, members of Motorola's Feedback Network that own the Verizon XOOM are receiving invitations to preview some new software before it's released to the public. The site says that the update should work whether your XOOM has been upgraded to support LTE or if it's still on 3G.
So what kinds of goodies does this update contain? Unfortunately, Motorola doesn't usually mention what's in these update soak tests when it sends the invitations out, and that seems to be the case today too. Because Motorola revealed earlier this month that the 3G XOOM would be updated to Android 4.0 sometime in the second quarter, though, it's thought that the new update may be the one that finally bumps the first-ever Honeycomb device up to Ice Cream Sandwich. We'll be keeping an eye on this update and will pass along more details as we get them. How many of you are still rocking a Verizon XOOM?
