Looks like the rumors were true. Sprint announced this morning that it plans to launch the Samsung Galaxy Nexus on April 22nd, aka this Sunday. Pricing for Sprint's Galaxy Nexus will be set at $199.99 with a two-year contract, and interested consumers can begin pre-ordering the device today from Sprint's website. Sprint notes that customers that pre-order the Galaxy Nexus will begin receiving their device as soon as Friday, April 20th.
Sprint has also announced a little incentive to get new Galaxy Nexus buyers to sign up for a Google Wallet account. Anyone that obtains a Sprint Galaxy Nexus between now and May 22nd and activates a Google Wallet account within one week of that purchase will get a $10 credit added to their Google Wallet prepaid card, and then an additional $40 credit within three weeks of activation.
As a reminder, the Sprint Galaxy Nexus includes features like a 4.65-inch 1280x720 HD Super AMOLED touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 32GB internal storage and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The Galaxy Nexus also includes support for Sprint's 4G LTE network, which is expected to go live in Atlanta, Baltimore, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City and San Antonio by the middle of this year. The wait for the arrival of the Galaxy Nexus on Sprint may have seemed like an eternity for some Now Network folk when you consider that the device was officially announced back in January, but the time to buy is finally almost here, and I'm sure many Sprint customers are happy to see that their GalNex is priced at $200 on contract.
