The iPad 3 rumor mill continues to churn today with a new report that offers up a date on which Apple may unveil its shiny new tablet. According to sources speaking to iMore, which the site claims have been "reliable in the past," Apple will hold its iPad 3 event on Wednesday, March 7th. That rumored date has been supported by Jim Dalrymple of The Loop, who responded to the claim with a simple "Yep."
This latest bit of rumored information lines up with a report from last week that purported that the iPad 3 will be announced during the first week of March. Additionally, it's worth noting that Apple, a company known for sticking to a fairly regular release cycle for its iOS devices, announced the iPad 2 during the first week of March last year. As far as specs for the new tablet go, most reports seem to agree that a 2048x1536 display will make the cut, and a quad-core processor has also been heavily rumored (though one recent report claimed that Apple may opt for a dual-core CPU in the iPad 3). One other feature that's been kicked around is 4G LTE connectivity. We're sure to hear more rumors surrounding the iPad 3 as March draws closer, so circle the 7th on your calendar in pencil and stay tuned. How many of you out there are planning on picking up an iPad 3 or at least delaying your next tablet purchase until Apple unveils its new slate?
