Looks like Windows Phone users have a little something to celebrate as the weekend wraps up. According to a report out of All About Windows Phone, the Marketplace has surpassed the 60,000 published apps milestone. If you're thinking that it was just a few days ago that Windows Phone hit 50,000 apps, you're not too far off, as it took the platform 25 days to grow from 50,000 to 60,000 apps. An average of 400 apps were added every day over a recent four-week period.
That's pretty impressive growth, no? Certainly the Windows Phone Marketplace still has a ways to go before it'll be getting near the total number of apps available in the App Store and Android Market, but fans Microsoft's mobile platform have to be excited about the number of apps available at their disposal. Here's to hoping that a growing Marketplace combined with upcoming hardware like the Lumia 900 and Titan II will help Windows Phone build its market share and gain steam with consumers in the coming months.
