Today we can add another handful of devices to the "Definitely getting Ice Crem Sandwich" list, as Samsung has announced several of its Galaxy-branded smartphones and tablets will be getting a bump up to Android 4.0. The first two products to be updated will be the international Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note in the first quarter of 2012. After that, Samsung says that updates for these devices will "soon follow":
Samsung added that upgrade details for devices that are specific to a certain market (like the U.S. Galaxy S II variants) will be given in separate announcements according to the different carrier requirements. Not much of a surprise there. As for the devices that were announced today, it's good to see Samsung committing to update several of its devices to ICS, and it should be interesting to see how ICS looks and handles on them when the updates finally begin trickling in. When we get word on upgrades for other Samsung-made devices, we'll pass along the information to you.
