Mobile World Congress officially kicked off today and already we're knee-deep in new handsets. HTC's big press event is tomorrow, and some believe that we could see these two devices added to the MWC pile. What you're looking at are purported renders of HTC's two "Facebook phones," which we recently heard would basically be an Android phone but with a dedicated Facebook button to allow quick access to the social networking site. The folks at Pocketnow have heard that the handset with a keyboard will be referred to as the HTC Snap 2, while the full touch device will be called the HTC Icon.
While there doesn't really seem like there's anything wrong with these two HTC renders, I'm still not sure that a handset with a dedicated Facebook button is a great idea. Why not just let the user place a Facebook icon or widget on their home screen and not alienate potential non-Facebook-using customers? Still, I'm sure that there are a lot of addicted users in the Facebook army that would love one of these two handsets. HTC's MWC event is tomorrow and we'll be there to cover whatever they decide to announce, so stay tuned!
