We've heard that Dell has several different tablets in its pipeline, including a Streak successor and devices with both 7 and 10-inch displays.  It appears that at least one of those devices will be making it to market soon, as a Dell "Mobile Internet Device" that fits into the smartphone category just got certification from the WiFi Alliance.  The product's model number is M02M, which is just one digit above the Streak's designation of M01M.

Since there's not much info to be found in the certification, it's tough to nail down exactly which Dell device we're looking at here.  We heard back in September that Dell planned to launch a 7-inch tablet soon and a 10-inch device at some point in the future, so those are both possibilities.  Others speculate that this could be the dual-core powered Streak 2/Opus One that was leaked early last month.  After considering all the options, I'm betting that this product will end up being a 7-inch tablet.  After all, Dell said at the end of September that the 7-inch device would be coming in a few weeks, so it's obviously a bit overdue.  And while I'd love to see a dual-core 1.2GHz tablet arrive in the next month or so, I just think that that device is still a little far off.  Which Dell tablet do you think just got certified?

UPDATE: Well, I'd say that about settles it.  The folks at Engadget have gotten their hands on an upcoming ad for the Dell Streak 7 which showcases its Stage UI and Android OS.  No word on when it'll actually be released, but it's probably a good bet that we'll see the Streak 7 at CES in a couple of weeks.
