When considering an Android purchase, sometimes it can be tough to pull the trigger since it's not clear how many OS updates your device will receive, if any. Those of you looking at the Galaxy Tab needn't worry, though, as Samsung is here to relieve your fears. Samsung India has confirmed that the Galaxy Tab will not only be updated to Gingerbread when it's released, but that Honeycomb will also be brought to the 7-inch tablet, as well. There's not much more information available, but the fact that the updates will be coming is good enough for now.
This is pretty big news for the Galaxy Tab, and has the potential to help move quite a few more units. After all, newer builds of Android are going to help optimize the OS for tablet use, especially Honeycomb. Android 2.2 may not be designed for use on a tablet, but by the look of things, the Galaxy Tab won't be stuck with that version of the software for long.
