Astrid is a cute little to-do list and reminder program that probably takes the title as the most reliable of such apps available in the Android Market. I've indicated before what a huge supporter I am of Remember the Milk, and that will probably remain my default to-do application for my home computers. But when it comes to my G1, I've been fully converted.
First of all, Astrid allows for categorizing and prioritizing, the same way RTM does, but it's so well integrated into the Android environment that it feels like a part of it. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be included with the next major release. Notifications pop up with friendly reminders that get progressively more motivating. "Come on, let's get this done," turns into, "Feel good about yourself and do this." It only happens if you set a deadline, and you can choose how far in advance you'd like to be nudged.
You can add tags, notes, estimated duration, and can even hide a task until a certain day. So if you don't want your list cluttered up, but know you had damn well better do three specific things the day before your significant other's birthday, Astrid has you covered. Set it six months in advance and forget about it. If you want to change the urgency of those hidden things, search for a tag. Astrid even shows a percent completed meter.
It really is an all-in-one app for your errands and chores. It won't replace a calendar, but for the time being, at least on my cell phone, it has replaced Remember the Milk and TooDo. Astrid is the definitive Android personal task manager. Below are some images I snagged from Google's Astrid page.
