After the Samsung Fascinate finally hit Verizon, we thought that we'd finally seen the last of the Galaxy S phones on the four big carriers. Turns out that that may not be true, as the Samsung Transform has shown up in a leaked Sprint document, looking an awful lot like its Epic brother minus the QWERTY slider. Engadget points out that Sprint is the only carrier without a keyboard-less Galaxy S phone, so that's one possibility, although I have to agree that Transform would be a strange name for it if that were true. The last time we saw the Transform leak, it was sporting the model numer SPH-M920, following the Samsung Moment (SPH-M900) and the Intercept (SPH-M910) so maybe Samsung just decided to borrow the Galaxy S look and feel for the Intercept's replacement? The Sanyo Zio also appears in the leaked doc, which is the first time we've seen the device outside of Cricket.
It's tough to say exactly what Sprint and Samsung have up their sleeves with the Transform, but my best guess would be that the follow-up to the Intercept will end up looking like a Galaxy S device. After all, Samsung has had quite a bit of success with their Galaxy S line of phones, so why mess with a winning formula? The Transform is pictured next to a BlackBerry Curve 3G 9330, which just hit Sprint, so hopefully we'll be learning more sooner rather than later.
