Earlier today, Sprint let everyone know that an update to fix the Epic's slow upload speeds would be coming tomorrow. It turns out that the Epic isn't the only Galaxy S phone getting updated, though, as T-Mobile's Vibrant is getting an update of its own. The JI5 update, which is currently only available through Samsung's Kies, is said to include several bug fixes, including the long-awaited GPS patch and the ability to use Samsung's Media Hub. It may not be Android 2.2, but it'll do for now!
While the update hasn't been pushed out by T-Mobile just yet (T-Mo said it would be out some time this month), updating through Kies seems like a good way to go if you're an impatient Vibrant owner. Unfortunately, some users are still reporting some issues, like with the compass, but at least the huge problems with the GPS seem to be behind us. If you want to give the update a go, you can download Samsung's Kies right here. For those of you that have already installed the JI5 update, how are things working out for you?
UPDATE: As is sometimes the case with being a bleeding edge enthusiast, it looks like we've all jumped the gun a bit with the JI5 update. T-Mobile has said via their Twitter account that we should avoid updating through Kies "due to some known issues." T-Mo also said that an official OTA will be announced through them shortly.
