Despite the competition in the postpaid market, the prepaid carriers are still under a great deal of pressure to compete. To that end, those that are on Boost Mobile's $50 and $60 unlimited plans now have free 411 access in addition to the all-you-can-eat voice, text, and messaging. I'll admit, I've always been a fan of the pricing structure of Boost ($60 for a BlackBerry with unlimited voice, text, and e-mails - can't beat that), but the addition of free 411 just sweetens the deal for me.
In conjunction with the announcement, the prepaid carrier is also launching the Samsung Rant. In case you don't remember, the Rant offers EVDO connectivity, a QWERTY keyboard, 2.0-megapixel camera, OneClick UI (though it's optimized for Boost), and microSD card slot. Though Sprint offered the device in black, red, and purple, Boost is keeping it to red for now. Expect to pay $149.99 when the device launches on May 19th. Reasonably inexpensive, and no contract - sounds good to me!
