To celebrate the launch of Apple TV+ last year, Apple gave a free year of the service to customers who bought a new piece of hardware like an iPhone 11 or iPhone 11 Pro. That free year is set to end soon, but Apple confirmed today that it's extending the deal.
The year-long Apple TV+ free trial is set to end on November 1, but Apple has told TechCrunch that it's extending the free trial to February 2021. That means you'll continue to be able to watch Apple TV+ for free through to January 31.
Anyone who subscribed to a year of Apple TV+ without a device purchase during that same date period will get their subscription extending through February 2021, too.
Monthly subscribers are getting hooked up as well. Apple says that if you signed up for a monthly subscription to Apple TV+ before November 1, 2020, you'll get a $4.99 per month credit for November, December, and January 2021. Apple will send you an email to notify you if you qualify for these free credits.
With many people still spending most of their time at home due to the pandemic, this is a nice gesture from Apple that'll help keep them entertained. Ted Lasso is an Apple TV+ show that receiving a lot of praise right now, and today's news means that anyone subscribed to Apple TV+ will have plenty of time to check it out of they haven't already.
