When you buy a new phone, it can be difficult to decide if you want to plunk down even more cash to add insurance to it. Apple is giving you more time to make that decision.
Apple is now giving customers in the US and Canada a year to add AppleCare+ insurance when they buy a new Apple device, reports Bloomberg. Previously, the window was only 60 days, so this is a pretty big increase.
This extended AppleCare+ window is available to customers who buy the AppleCare+ protection in full or who pay using installments with an Apple Card.
Apple hasn't yet updated its AppleCare+ support documents with information on this extended insurance window.
AppleCare+ can greatly reduce the amount that you'll pay for iPhon repairs from Apple. With AppleCare+, you'll pay just $29 to fix screen damage or $99 for any other accidental damage. Apple also offers a upgraded AppleCare+ that covers theft or loss as well, and that plan will replace a lost or stolen iPhone 11 for $229 or an iPhone 11 Pro for $269.
