We've seen a couple notable streaming services announce price hikes this week, and so Sling TV is responding with a new pledge not to increase its own pricing.
Sling TV today announced its 1-Year Price Guarantee. With it, new and existing customers who have an account by August 1, 2020 will have their current price guaranteed on any Sling TV service through August 1, 2021.
"We believe now is not the time to make our customers choose between staying informed and entertained, and putting dinner on the table," Sling explains. "Our hope is this 1-Year Price Guarantee will bring a sense of much needed stability in a time that feels uncertain to us all."
Yesterday YouTube TV announced that it was increasing its price by $15 for all customers and FuboTV says that its prices are also going up. Price increases for services like these can be a pain during normal times, but they can be especially difficult now due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. With this 1-Year Price Guarantee, Sling wants its subscribers to know that it'll be at least one thing that won't cause more of a financial strain during these times.
