A new update for the Galaxy S20 Ultra is causing problems for users, so much so that Samsung has pulled the update.
Last week, Samsung began pushing a new update for the Galaxy S20 Ultra that was version G988xXXU1ATCT and included the April 2020 security patches. SamMobile reports that S20 Ultra owners were finding a green tint on their display after installing the update as well as slower than normal fast charging speeds.
Samsung says that it's aware of the green tint issue, saying that it affects "a very limited number" of Galaxy S20 Ultra phones. It's working on an update to fix the issue that it says will arrive soon.
Issues like these would be a problem for any phone, but they're probably especially frustrating for folks who plunked down $1,400 or more for Samsung's top-end Galaxy S20 Ultra. As you can see in the image above, you can still use the phone when the green tint is present, but it looks pretty rough.
Reports say that if you did download this update on your Galaxy S20 Ultra and you've got the green tint, you can avoid it by keeping your display locked at 60Hz. That's kind of frustrating since one of the main draws of the S20 Ultra is its 120Hz refresh rate, but it'll also keep your screen from turning green while we wait for a new update from Samsung.
