Curious about the coronavirus and wondering if you should see a doctor? A new tool from Apple can help.
Apple today launched a COVID-19 screening tool that's available as an iOS app and as a website for folks on Android, Windows, Mac, and other platforms. The screening tool was developed by Apple in partnership with the CDC, Coronavirus Task Force, and FEMA.
This screening tool includes questions about symptoms, travel, and any contact you've had recently with people who might have coronavirus. You can then get a recommended action based on CDC guidelines, like practicing social distancing or seeing a doctor.
The app and website also include best practices for washing your hands, quarantining, social distancing, disinfecting surfaces, and monitoring your symptoms. There are frequently asked questions about COVID-19, too, like how to recognize symptoms.
Apple's COVID-19 screening app and website do not require any sign-in and your responses will not be sent to Apple or any government organization. Apple says both the app and website are made to keep your data private and secure.
