The day after Disney+ launched, it was revealed that the service had already surpassed 10 million subscribers. Fast-forward two months and that number has more than doubled.
Disney+ had 26.5 million subscribers as of December 28, 2019. That number was confirmed by Disney in the company's fiscal Q1 2020 report.
To compare, has a total of 30.4 million subscribers when you combine its on-demand and live TV offerings. Netflix has around 167 million subs.
Considering that Disney+ is only around two months old, it's pretty impressive that it's right on the heels of Hulu, which has been around for much longer. Plus, that Disney+ subscriber count is actually more than a month old, so it's possible that Disney+ has gained more subscribers and perhaps even passed Hulu by now.
Have you tried Disney+ yet? If so, what do you think of it?
UPDATE: Disney CEO Bob Iger says that as of this week, Disney+ is up to 28.6 million subscribers while Hulu is at 30.7 million.
Bob Iger just told investors that Disney+ is ACTUALLY at 28.6 million subscribers as of Monday.
