There's been a lot of talk about Android Q and its new features lately, but there are still some phones waiting for their update to Android Pie. That includes some of HTC's phones, and today the company shared an update on its Android Pie rollout plans.
HTC says that the HTC U11 will begin receiving its Android Pie update in late May 2019. The HTC U11+ will follow, with its update slated to begin rolling out in late June 2019. Finally, the HTC U12+ is expected to begin getting its Android Pie update in June 2019.
As with most updates, the timing for these HTC Android Pie updates may vary in different regions and on different carriers.
HTC originally announced its Android Pie update plans back in August 2018, and the HTC U11 Life began getting its piece of Pie a few months later. There haven't been any HTC phones that've been updated to Pie since then, though, so it's nice to get some more info from HTC on the matter. Hopefully there are no last-minute issues and HTC is able to get these updates out as planned.
We want to share the release schedule of the Android Pie updates for #HTC smartphones. Please note, certain regions & carrier deployment may affect these dates. U11 rollout will begin late May, 2019; U11+ will begin late June, 2019; U12+ will begin mid-June, 2019. Thank you pic.twitter.com/eyeCdX5qWm
