Earlier today we learned that the OnePlus 7 Pro will be available from T-Mobile in the U.S., but that's not the only piece of OP7 Pro info that we're getting today.
The OnePlus 7 Pro will come with an upgraded vibration motor. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed to CNET that the OnePlus 7 Pro's vibration motor will be larger and 200 percent more powerful than the previous motor used in OnePlus phones.
"Our team had to rethink the internal design of the OnePlus 7 Pro, to fit inside the body without increasing the thickness of the device, which could lead to a less ergonomic feel," Lau said. "At the same time, we had to ensure that the haptic motor was in the right position so that the haptics would be strong, yet even across the device."
OnePlus 7 Pro owners will be able to fine-tune the vibration settings to their liking. Users will get to choose from light, medium, and strong intensity options for incoming calls and other notifications, and there will be six different vibration patterns to choose from as well. Lau also said that OnePlus 7 Pro users will be able to "tune the vibration" of the keyboard when typing.
OnePlus has caught a lot of criticism for the vibration motors in its previous devices, with owners complaining that they're weak and inconsistent. It's good to hear that OnePlus is listening to its customers and working to improve the vibration motor in its phones, especially with the OnePlus 7 Pro, which is looking like it could be a premium device. We'll have to wait until we get the OP7 Pro in our hands before we know how much better its vibration motor is, but thankfully we don't have to wait long, because the OnePlus 7 Pro is being announced next week.
