A new month means new Google Pixel security updates.
Google today released the February 2019 Android security patch updates for Pixel devices. The Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel, Pixel XL, and Pixel C are all getting the update, which should begin rolling out over the air today. Google is also offering factory images and OTA images that you can sideload if you'd like.
The company has also posted an Android Security Bulletin that details the vulnerabilities that've been patched in this latest update. These include issues with the framework, library, system, kernel components, NVIDIA components, and Qualcomm components.
Google also typically posts a separate Pixel Update Bulletin that details the functional patches for Pixel phones included in each monthly update. However, the company has no functional patches to share this month.
Also of note is that Essential has confirmed that it's now pushing the February 2019 security patch update to the Essential Phone, continuing its streak of speedy Android updates. The update includes improved performance, bug fixes, and modem security patches as well.
