Following companies like Lenovo and Google getting into the smart display market, LG has announced its own entry.
The LG XBOOM AI ThinQ WK9 is a new smart display that features the Google Assistant on an 8-inch HD touchscreen. There's a front-facing 5MP camera for video calls, too, and stereo 20W speakers. LG says that it teamed with Meridian Audio to help give the speakers "high-fidelity sound, precise vocal definition, and accurate bass".
LG's new smart display device is also capable of controlling other smart LG ThinQ devices in your home. This includes LG TVs and home appliances. And of course, since it's got the Google Assistant, you can use the LG XBOOM AI ThinQ WK9 to control thousands of other smart home devices.
LG's XBOOM AI ThinQ WK9 is normally priced at $299.99, but for now it's got a limited time promotional price of $199.99.
This new LG XBOOM AI ThinQ WK9 is priced a bit higher than the smart displays from Lenovo and Google, especially at its regular price. It does appear to place more of a focus on quality audio, though, so if you want a smart display and audio quality is an important feature for you, then the LG XBOOM AI ThinQ WK9 may be worth considering.
