The RED Hydrogen One is going to start shipping to pre-order customers this week, but we still don't know many of the new Android flagship's specs. That's changed today, though, thanks to a new infographic that's found its way online.
One of the highlights of the RED Hydrogen One is its 5.7-inch 2560x1440 LCD screen. What's notable about it is that the display will be able to show H4V holographic stills and videos. The infographic shows that the display is also made of Gorilla Glass, but it doesn't specify exactly which version.
Above and below that screen are front-facing speakers, and there's a pair of 8.3MP cameras sitting above the display, too. There's an LED notification indicator on the front of the phone as well. The bottom is home to the Hydrogen One's USB-C port, and up top is the dual SIM and microSD slot as well as the 3.5mm headphone jack.
Around back, RED has included dual 12.3MP cameras with flash and a modular expansion pogo connector. The left side of the phone houses the knurled ergonomic grips and volume buttons, and on the right there's the power button that doubles as a fingerprint reader.
Finally, the inside of the phone is home to 6GB of RAM, 128GB of built-in storage, and a 4500mAh battery. RED has previously confirmed that the Hydrogen One will have a Snapdragon 835 processor, so we know that that's in there, too. The phone's body is made of aluminum and kevlar.
The RED Hydrogen One is definitely a high-end device, and while the inclusion of a Snapdragon 835 rather than 845 is disappointing, the SD835 is still a solid chip. Plus, the main focus of the Hydrogen One isn't supposed to be its spec list, but is instead its ability to record and view content. Its display offers holographic H4V support, which will give you a glasses-free 3D experience, and it's got A3D Spatial Surround Sound to make viewing your content on the Hydrogen One more enjoyable. It's not a cheap phone, but with the aluminum model priced at $1,195, but if you're aware of the RED name, you know what you're getting into with the Hydrogen One.
