Good Coverage, generally good service in N.E.

Posted on: February 25th, 2007 by Jurg Fella

The good: Verizon has, in my experience, the best coverage in the Northeast. Customer service has generally been good, although at times one gets conflicting information from different customer service staff. The bad: There are some dropped calls in known problem areas. In the Boston area, there are predictable problems on Route 2, in Brookline, in the Tip O'Neill tunnel, etc. Verizon costs are a little higher than some competing carriers. Also, there are still large areas of Maine, NH and VT with no coverage.Summary: In general, Verizon seems to have the best coverage in the Northeast, with generally good customer service. Prices are a little higher than other plans, but the in-network option is good (especially with such a large customer base in the Northeast). Had Sprint before, which wasn't a bad service, but had more holes in their coverage than Verizon.

Not a happy camper!

Posted on: February 22nd, 2007 by Anonymous

The good: Most people have verizon so you can talk for free. In common areas you have good service most of the time. The bad: The service people at every verizon store that i have been to dont care about anything, are very hard to deal with, and most of the time dont satisfy your needs. Also at stores it always takes forever to get what you want if you even get it at all. They have a very poor selection of phones. LIke the razor, they got just the ugly silver one and the light pink one. other carriers got all the good ones including the hot pink, teal, red, and the special dolce and gabbanna gold one. Summary: Overall verizon is a company that the only reason people get the service in the first place is because every one they know has it so they can save more money on call time. They have basically unatractive phones except for like 5. Also a lot of people dont care about having a music player(since most people have ipods or mp3 players),a gps( a lot of people have one in their car either built in or attached to the window), or get it now( which cost money just to be on it looking at stuff). I am looking in to either cingular( for its largest coverage map and nice phones) ot t-mobile(for its lowest plans out at this time and their rele nice phones including the hot pink razor, teal razor, dolce and gabbana gold razor, sidekick and a lot of others!

Leaving after 5 years

Posted on: January 31st, 2007 by Lisa Donaho

The good: Plans are OK. The bad: Too much "extras". Service reps & sales people not on the up and up with the phones and featuresSummary: Bought a Mint Chocolate for my daughter. The first was totally unusable, the second the charging port is broken. From what I am being told, there have been numerous problems with these phones.I was not told you need to keep this phone away from humidity. This includes the bathroom, Florida and Indiana in the summer. These will cause a little dot to turn pink and void the manufacturers warranty. I have been growing less and less happy with their customer service and with the amount of stuff you have to buy now. It's time to move on.

The good: None! The bad: Dropped calls daily! Customer Service Stinks!Summary: We always drop calls several times a day! They lie and tell you they will credit the account and never do! Bought new phones, promised a credit equal to one months service have yet to see the credit! Is going to cost me over $600.00 to cancel service!

Fantastic coverage, great reception, mediocre customer service

Posted on: January 22nd, 2007 by Jeff Burns

The good: Almost always have a signal, only 3 or 4 dropped calls in 2 years, good phones, decent customer service, great corporate discounts available (i.e. I get a discount even though I don't use my VZW phone for work)The bad: Stores are always crowded because, while their customer service is generally pleasant, their employees don't move too quickly and everything (technical service, new service, upgrades) takes tooooooo long.Summary: Verizon is far and away the best carrier available in the Northeast. I had Sprint for two years and had terrible reception and then Cingular for two years with even worse reception. I've literally had only 3 or 4 dropped calls in my time with Verizon, though I will admit that their reception on Cape Cod isn't as good as Cingular's.

Very Satisfied

Posted on: January 10th, 2007 by James Gene Murtaugh

The good: Great signal. The bad: The addition of the Razr was terrible. The software for the razr is the worst.Summary: The signal is unmatched. I want and use a phone to talk and maybe text, simple as that. I don't need to listen to music, search the net, etc. Best signal around hands down.

Poor reception, poor service.

Posted on: January 9th, 2007 by Wade Smith

The good: The local store has good service but online and on the phone, the service people are worthless. The bad: Constantly dropping calls, even when outside. I live in Denver which should have good coverage, but it has a lot to be desired. Anybody that says they have "no" dropped calls I have to assume either does not use their phone much or is lying. Also the most expensive carrier in our area. Summary: I am looking to switch carriers when my contract is up.

The Best ever

Posted on: January 2nd, 2007 by Louis Sanchez

The good: By far the best serviceThe bad: NoneSummary: I have switch from Sprint to Cingular because I used to drop calls all of the time. Cingular its better than Sprint, but I was dropping too many calls and in my line of work I can't afford to drop calls. I've switch to Verizon Wireless over 2 years now, and I have to admit they are the best company in every way possible.

Great service...most of the time

Posted on: December 19th, 2006 by Anonymous

The good: great coverage, reliable service, no dropped callsThe bad: reception spotty in some areas. inside my house it's not very good.Summary: Verizon wireless as a carrier is fantastic. Besides the VERY few spots where reception isn't so hot - like my house - it is great. There really isn't any reason to not get Verizon. At the very least, give it serious consideration.
