I use my cell phone sparingly (I am old). Tried to transfer old phone number to my new phone -- hours of my life I will never get back! and lost the old number. You get what you pay for.

Think twice before you buy!

My 78 year old mother has spent the last week trying to add airtime to her Tracfone. She has tried to do it over the phone but was left waiting for hours for customer service. I tried online but was told her phone number was wrong, which it isn't! This is the second time she has had this trouble and now she has given up and is phone hunting for a company who really cares about their customers!

BAD DEAL!!

I decided to get a tracphone for the coverage.Went to buy one got home to activate it online.Since I wanted old number I had to call customer service.big mistake!!!!Used husbands tracphone for this was on phone for over a hour.Come to find out sim card was no good.Took phone baback to where i bought it.Back home tried it again another thirty minutes on phone with superviser still no phone.called 24 hrs.later called again same thing sim card is no good.They said they could send me another sim card done that before 3 monthes later no minutes but I have a sim card.IMAGINE THAT..They said I could buy more minutes an another phone and they would put the minutes from first phone on there too or I could wait on sim card.So now I still have no phone and no minutes from them.They would not even put the minutes on my husbands phone that was allready paid for.Very costly mistake!!!!!!!

Disappointed

Bought this for my grandson for Christmas, he loved it but when you go outside of your area, you have no tex or pic tex and when we called customer service, it took an hour on the phone of them trying to fix it for them to finally tell us that it will not work out of the home area. So if you are going on vacation you can not tex or pic tex so that is a big issue with us and no where was this mentioned in their ads. ************* UNHAPPY SURPRISES!!***************

I have been a Tracfone customer since the summer of 2009, and I have been very pleased with the different phones I have had through them. My calls to customer service have been excellent. I have read some peoples' reviews to others that Tracfone isn't great, to not get another phone from them, etc. but I've had no problems with customer service whatsoever. Every time I added a minutes card to my phone, they always showed up on whichever phone I added the airtime to and the extra service days as well. I have two lines (so does my mom), and we're happy. Here are the best things about having Tracfone: 1) No contract to sign and be locked in to 2) No credit check 3) No fees for activating, re-activating, or cancellation of service 4) No monthly bills 5) You can have as many minutes as you like to your phone or phones, regardless of how often you talk on the phone 6) Most Tracfones have Double Minutes for Life on them, meaning whenever you add a minutes card to the phone, the card's face value doubles (if you add a 200 minutes card, you get 400 minutes) 7) If you have a promo code (which is a five digit number) and add that after your regular minutes card, you will get a certain number of bonus minutes (on DMFL phones, these bonus minutes don't double, but the're quite handy to have). Again, I'm satisfied with Tracfone, and I will gladly stay on with them, and I will highly recommend this to someone who is wanting the lowest priced cell service.

LOST MINUTES

My daughter has had a tracfone for the last four years. Worked fine no problems till the last year. Takes forever for customer service and that is if you get one who can speak English. Her phone started shutting off and every time it shut itself off it lost minutes. Hundreds of minutes at at time. We were told to replace the phone. We did so and still the same problem. They wont fix it or give back minutes. Has Cost us thousand of minutes in the last year. Not impressed any more with them. But Have not heard great things about others either. My daughter is barely 16 and we need her to be able to reach us but want to monitor her phone as well and not have it cost us a fortune. Come on there has to be a reasonable solution!!!

Good Service as long as you have no problems

Upgraded phone, added minutes on-line never showed up on phone, 5 calls to service, nice but unable to fix, no way to escalate, ran out of minutes, if you use your phone for business go different carrier or you couyld be left hanging with no help.

Decent service, cheap, worst customer service

Want to know why is so cheap: Tracphone does not train their customer service employees. Those people are so lost that they can actually give help, they were nice, but I could not get the assistance and the answers I need it. So, the phone service is very decent and is cheap. I got the phone for people who visited me so they used the phone a couple of days, so it was very convenient for me. I recommend to avoid calling customer service like the plague!!!!
