Best cell company I've had!!

Posted on: March 22nd, 2008 by Rissa B

The good: GREAT customer service, affordable prices and nice service. The bad: None so far!Summary: I've only had T-Mobile for 3 months, but so far it is the best cell phone service I've ever had and I've been with Cricket, Verizon, Cingular and Sprint. I got my T-Mobile Wing for FREE with a 2 year service agreement and so far haven't had a problem. CUSTOMER SERVICEI've called customer service up to 3 times in one day when I first got my phone just for questions about billing and features on my phone and there was no hold time, the reps were polite and very helpful and answered all of my questions clearly and thouroughly. PLANSI have the TMobile fav 5 with 600 minutes. I have talked over 2,000 minutes with one of the people on my fav 5 in one month and of course there are NO extra charges because fav 5 is unlimited! I originally started with the 1000 minutes plan but only use about 1/5 of that during peak times so I went down to 600 and they didn't try to get me to resign my contract or give me any penalties at all! They will even pro-rate your bill to the beginning of the cycle as long as you call before the statement has gone out so that you don't have any overages or if you used less than you thought you would.I also have the unlimited data plan for 19.99 which is AWESOME because it's almost just like having the internet in your pocket. You can check your email, go to any website on the web and even use your telephone as a modem for you computer and get online on your computer under the data plan. I had unlimited data with my sprint razr, but I still had to pay $3 a month just to use aol and I could only go to the website that sprint allowed me to. It DOES count as text messages when you use the instant messenger, but I have unlimited text messaging anyway for $14.99.BILLINGTMobile mails out your bill a couple weeks before it's even due and with that is included a complete phone log history of who you talked to and for how long. Also, the bill you pay is for what you've already used and not for the upcoming month like some cell phone companies!TROUBLESHOOTINGI DID have something go wrong with my phone and have to call customer support to troubleshoot it, but after trying several things we finally fixed it in 45 minutes without me even having to go to the store. INSURANCE PLANThe insurance is 5.99 a month and that covers if the phone is lost, stolen or obtains any damage (Yes! Even water damage!). There IS a $100 deductible for my phone, but since I got the phone for free and it's retail price is actually around $400 that's still a pretty good deal to me.All in all I give TMobile a HUGE thumbs up and I hope that they never change.

The good: the monthly rate plan are great!!!The bad: the coverage areaSummary: Ive been with t-mobile for over 4 years and the only problem I've had to deal with is not having service while underground. I love t-mobile the phones are great, the rate plans are affordable, and their customer service is great. No complaint on my end you should go out and get one.

As good as any other

Posted on: March 17th, 2008 by Jessy J

The good: Consistant customer service, competitive plans and phonesThe bad: Sometimes my in-coming calls don't come through-just dead air, is it possible to have a good deal on smaller bundles?Summary: While I didn't have many issues with my previous provider, Sprint, I did have to deal with the reps saying, "We are currently updating our system, please call back in 45 minutes." I'd call back in the said time, and I'd get the same message from the rep again and again. This happened to me while I was attempting to put a hold on my account for a month long trip out of the country. End result, I didn't get the hold placed on my account, and had to pay the full monthly service fee. I have not had that problem with T-Mobile. I've place 2 holds on my account, and it was so easy, I just called in and scheduled when I wanted my phone to go into suspend and when I wanted it to turn back on. I was delightfully surprised when the suspend actually went into effect and ended, just as scheduled, no worries. No calling in on the day I needed to have the susped start, who has time for that when catching a flight? Add to that the the ease that I had checking up on my account via Internet, it was wonderful not to have to worry about my phone! Customer service has always been prompt and courteous. I was afraid of having issues when switching my phone number from Sprint to T-Mobile, but alas, no problems arose.

Posted on: March 9th, 2008 by Chris Hudson

The good: I have been a T Mobile Costumer since 06 and have not had any problems with the sservice at all it was also better then some of the other carriers that i had used as company phones. My phone with Tmobile had better service then with those phones. It really depends on the type phone that you have. The bad: having to get switched to different departments for certain phones because not everyone is able to help on all issues.Summary: i enjoy t mobile overall and continue to renue my contract and buy new phones. i drive a truck cross country and have very few areas where my phone doesnt have service but that is all cell phone companies

Prepaid service tops

Posted on: February 24th, 2008 by aarlene freeman

The good: able to purchase 1000 minutes for $100--never worry about running out of timeThe bad: high price per minuteSummary: For those of us who want a cell phone in the car for emergencies or just for a quick call, the prepaid plan is excellent. If you buy 1000 minutes first, then you may buy a much smaller amount (say, $15 or $25) next time and you have peace of mind PLUS cell phone convenience.

Hounded me to Switch

Posted on: February 21st, 2008 by Mary Gauden

The good: Nice Phones, Fav 5 is a good ideaThe bad: Bad Cumoster service, Misleading, High Bills, Defective phonesSummary: I was at the mall and a T Mobile rep, In a booth hounded me when I came out of the stores, I finally stopped to talk to them, much to my husbands objections, He promised me and my son if we switched from the carrier we had.. Free phones , car chargers, cases, ect...We got NONE of this except the phone, even after several calls and attempts to receive what we were promised.I even personally went back to the mall 3 times and talked to the rep and Mgr. the case they were going to give me didnt even fit our phones... He also promised our bills would never be larger then what we were paying with the provider we had.. WRONG! At first the bills were ok, now Im paying $500. a month and have no idea why, they cant explain it, my bills show no over charges...I had problems with both mine and my sons phones, they replaced them with the same phone 3times!! The last time, they told my son to take my sims card out, put it in his phone to trouble shoot his phone, when it was put back in my phone, I lost all my numbers, voice mails (some saved from my mom who passed away that i listend to every day and can never be replaced!! I was in tears) all texts, pics, Music, Videos... everything!! I was so upset. This time they gave us 2 new phones, After talking to 4 diff customer service preps and asking to talk to the Mgr. Which they would not do.. better ones and upgraded,I had probs with mine, they sent me another phone (the same) The phone they sent had no battery, backplate, sim card nothing, I had to add my old phone stuff and BUY another sims card, again i lost all my music, numbers, everything. Then got texts and letters constantly about sending the old phone back, which I did... T Mobile bites, Im locked in a 2 year contract that I will break, I have a little less then a year. They will add $500.00 and this will go on my credit, as im not paying, its been a hoax since I switched. This weekend Im going back to my old provider. I do not recommend T Mobile!!!. All you get are high bills, defective phones and even though customer service is nice, they do nothing to solve the problems!! It's an experience I could live without and the worst part is, I cancelled my home phone and cell phones are all my family has, right now I dont have one at all, Thank goodness my husband and daughter didn't switch!!

Customer Service Nightmare

Posted on: February 17th, 2008 by Denise Leitch

The good: Good rate planThe bad: Doesn't stand behind product or customerSummary: Have been a customer for over 8 years. It is a nightmare to solve a problem. No less than 30 minutes on the phone regardless of the problem. CS reps are irritating and rehearsed. Had 5 Dash T-mobile brand phones in 1 year. Also paid for the monthly insurance. Although I had 5 defective phones, they would only replace the phone with the same brand. I signed a 2 year contract for the Dash and that was what I was stuck with. The last Dash lasted 3 weeks. The ear piece went out but so sorry, 1 year phone warranty had expired the day before I called. I could either get another Dash through the insurance ($100.00 deductible) or purchase another phone. So 5 phones in 1 year but the warranty only convered the first purchase. They did not care I maintained 3 plans with them for the past 8 years. I am currently seeking another service provider.

Poor customer service

Posted on: February 1st, 2008 by Laura Wall

The good: Fairly good reception, cheap pricesThe bad: Extremely poor customer serviceSummary: For about a month, I received daily, sometimes more than once per day, calls from T-Mobile. They were trying to reach someone else, who had listed my T-mobile number as their home number, for collection on some bill or something. Their recorded message / caller asked for this person by name each time. I called them and told them they had the wrong number. They KEPT calling me. It took about 4 calls, each lasting 10-20 mins as I waited through the "push one for... hold..." logjam each time, to get this resolved. I requested that they send me a credit for my wasted time. Instead they gave me 75 free mins, which were totally useless since I never use my 1000 free minutes per month.Since then I haven't had problems but their customer service is horrible. I dread the day when I have another problem.

Customer is always wrong in the event of a dispute

Posted on: January 26th, 2008 by Ed Wu

The good: Plans are moderately pricedThe bad: They'll never budge in the event of a disputeSummary: I've found that T-Mobile is relentless against giving in towards a customer in the event of a dispute. Try to dispute a charge with them, you'll see how quickly their tones change. I talked with three different representatives, and they all used the same language. I think they read from a script. I was a T-Mobile customer for over 2 years. My monthly payment was automatically charged to my credit card. I canceled my credit card and updated that information with T-Mobile by the due date. They assessed a late fee against me, telling me that I shuold have spoken to a customer representative instead of merely updating my credit card information. I don't see why I should be charged a late fee if T-Mobile had my correct credit card number by the actual due date! I tried to dispute the late fee, but they won't budge, telling me that it was valid charge. Their relentless urge to systematically maintain the customer is "wrong" is appauling. Switch to AT&T. Much easier to dispute charges. AT&T's representatives are more willing to work customers in order to resolve disputes.

Lousy service

Posted on: January 26th, 2008 by Debbie Chandler

If you don't want a one or two year contract they aren't interested in you being a customer. Different service reps will tell you different things, they need more training so that you can get the same information from everyone you speak with.
