Not the Best But Good to Me

Posted on: May 11th, 2010 by Rina Magwood

The good: When I first got with Sprint, long ago, they were and still are cost effective for me. While VZW's deposits=$400, Sprint's only =$125.The bad: Sprint seems to lack the ability to have a good selection of the latest and greatest phones. Summary: While I've had problems with Sprint they do well in resolving them when I complain. I'm constantly tempted to go to other providers because they have a bigger selection of 'New Hotness' when it comes to phones. I do need to give Sprint a pat on the back for effort, they are getting better and not only in the phone department. Waiting to see what else they have on the back burner simmering.

New Assurance Program

Posted on: April 24th, 2010 by Jenny Leigh

The good: Saves a great deal of money $$$The bad: Only low income support :(Summary: Sprint's new Assurance program is a big money-saver. All you do is email the President of the company, Mr. Hesse, and tell him you want the 200 minutes/month for $10 offer. Even if you don't quality for low income support, we still deserve to save money with this great deal just as the new customers do. I personally think its an awesome deal and think all Sprint customers like myself should be able to use it :)Here's the link for President of Sprint's email address: assurancewireless.webs.com

No major issues

Posted on: August 14th, 2009 by Linus 199

The good: Been with Sprint for a long time. Never had an unusual problem. The bad: Customer service improving, but can still be better. I usually have to be patient with the customer service reps and have to repeat myself about 3 times before they understand.Summary: I never had an unusual problem with Sprint. I have friends that have phones with all the big networks (eg, AT&T, Verizon & T-Mobile), and the problems are the same with every company. Some of the problems that I hear people have with Sprint (which I don't experience) are;1) They cut my phone off...Well people, this happens when you don't pay your bill. Eventually it gets cut off. And keep in mind it's a computer that cuts you off. It can't tell if you're 1 cent or $100 over your spending limit (if you have one), you're just over your limit. 2) Why do new customers get a discount and existing customers don't get anything? Not true. When you first sign up, you sign a two year agreement and get a discount. When the 2 years are done, you can sign another 2 year agreement and get another discount. Every 2 years, an existing customer can get a full discount just like a new customer. You can't take advantage of a discount, and then only one year later come into a store and start arguing that you've been a customer for 5 years, how come you don't get a (another) discount.... 3) Their prices are too high.In my opinion, they're prices are similar to the other carriers. And with the Simply Everything Plan, they are actually cheaper that the other carriers. Overall, I'm happy with Sprint and wouldn't change. They were the first to have an all digital network. One of the firsts to introduce the web on a cell phone. The first company to offer a camera phone (Sanyo 5300. First camera phone in the US). The first with Push To Talk (Nextel). One of the first to offer 3G service and the first to offer 4G service. The most reliable data service (that's why Amazon uses Sprint data service for their Kindle e-books). Why would I want to leave a company that almost leads the US industry in cellular technology?

Do NOT go the route of Sprint

Posted on: July 12th, 2009 by Anonymous

The good: None that I can think ofThe bad: I recently became unemployed, I could not pay my bill for six weeks, until my first unemployment check came. Sprint charged me the early out of contract fee. I called and explained the situation and then Sprint said that they would take back the early out of contract - they never did. I do have my phone back on but the bills keep coming for the early out of contract. My phone is old and Sprint tells me that I cannot get a new phone until May of 2010. My battery only holds a charge for two hours.Summary: Do NOT go with a Spring account. You can find better with Verizon or AT&T.

The good: my brain hurts too muchThe bad: bunch of goofsSummary: Got 2 new phones, while working on unlimited data plan I get offered a $10.00 discount by rep. Mind you, I've been a customer forever. When other issues moved the call upward in department they took away the offer..................I'm contemplating returning 2 phones and moving on.

WORST EVER how do the stay in business

Posted on: June 14th, 2009 by chris russell

The good: found only 2 places that dropped callsThe bad: every thing!!!!!!!!! phones were crap. long lines to get your phone fixed, promise never kept. can not under stand them on the phone.Summary: i had sprint for 3 years worst customer service ever. could not understand them over the phone most the time, for i thank their call center is in India. when trying to call sprint it would take an average of 30 min some times longer to get someone on the phone. T-Mobile maybe 3-5 min. when trying to get my phone fixed i would have to go to there store wait in line for 45 min drop it off come back in an hour wait in line for another 45 min for them to tell me they would have to order a refurbished one come back in a week. i would wait in line for 45 min get my phone and out of the 9 times i had to do this 5 times i would find that there would be a issue with the phone in about 2 hours of having it. T-Mobile dose it all on the phone no mater were your at and no lines no hassle and every phone i got back worked and in some times less then a week. long story short T-Mobile rocks hard core

Best Carrier I've had, shows improvements each year.

Posted on: June 10th, 2009 by Anonymous

The good: Very great deals on plans and service.Gets all the new phones mostly before any other carrier in the united statesThe bad: Slow customer service, but is improvement based on the previouse years.Summary: This is my 6th year with sprint, and i have to say they have come a very long way. From bad customer service sprint is now a very decent customer friendly company, and i think it has alot to do with Dan Hesse. The best thing i love about sprint is its plans, and services offered at a really low price compared to hideous prices from other companies such as att. Sprint is one of the first companies in the U.S to get new cool gadgets, and that another thing i love about the company.

Significantly Improved Customer Service

Posted on: June 7th, 2009 by Toby Jack

The good: Excellent Customer Service.Very good coverage.Excellent call quality.Rate plans are very competitively priced compared to ATT & Verizon.Palm Pre.The bad: Phone offerings have not been great in the past, but that appears to be changing.Summary: I have been with Sprint for over 5 years now. During this time I have lived in both the Rocky Mountain area & the Mid-Atlantic, and have traveled quite a bit. In my experience the coverage has been very good. I have rarely been in an area where I did not have Sprint coverage, have been in some with Roaming only, and a few with no coverage at all. The areas with Roaming or no coverage have been very rural, and coverage usually is only down for a short distance while traveling. My experience with Sprint's customer service in the past has been disappointing. My contract is up this month and I had been looking at switching to either ATT or Verizon. I have had a couple of reasons to contact customer service, and they actually contacted both my wife & I in the last few weeks to check on our level of satisfaction. I assume because we are nearing the end of our contract. My experiences in the last few months with customer service at Sprint have been excellent. I have only interacted with customer service reps that have been in the US or Canada, and they have all been very helpful and pleasant. They have a new policy now that they will resolve your issue in one phone call.In short, I find Sprint's network coverage & call quality to be very good. Customer service has been improved significantly. At this point, I am planning on upgrading to the new Palm Pre and staying with Sprint for at least another 2 years.
