A Piece of Freaking Crap, Worst Phone Ever.

Posted on: February 22nd, 2009 by Felicia Smith

The good: no contract, 50$ a monthThe bad: cheap, crappy, unreliable, scamming, liars, rip off, no customer service, texting sucks, phone not user friendly, broken promises.Summary: Where do I start, first off they tell you the phone takes 72 hours to start working, but you have to know if you like the phone enough to keep it within the hour you buy. How do you know you like it if you can't use it. Second when i did get my phone refunded they ripped me off of 160 dollars, make sure you ask for cash. Next off, you go to call customer service and they are morons, all they can say is they've done everything they can do. What now? Picture messaging still isn't working even after over a week, i can't get texts unless i text first, and they say they are better than cricket they make dog crap look good. There phones are totally outdated and i would not reccomend boost mobile to anyone accept maybe baffoons.

Piece Of Crap

Posted on: February 17th, 2009 by Anonymous

The good: No contractThe bad: Just about everythingSummary: Where do you start? the Customer Service is terrible. I mean they honestly don't have a clue about anything. Calls were always dropping; The phones are terribly outdated. I couldn't text for the first 5 days after activation. I call customer care for help with the problem and they say there is nothing they can do. I was just going to have to wait. Finally the text works, but even that is a waste of time. I text people throughout the day an never get nothing back. Turns out every night at about 2:30-3:00am my phone goes crazy with a bunch of texts people have sent me throughout the day. I made the mistake of calling customer care because after waiting 30min all they could say was that's just the way it is and their is nothing they could do. I only had that prob half the time. All the other times the text NEVER EVEN WENT THROUGH, and when it did go through it wouldn't reach the other person til 20-30min later. And when I ever did receive a text I would have to sometimes wait up to 5min to download it. A lot of time I would wait 5min and it would just say "transport error". This happened quite frequently. I'm with AT&T now and their 10x better. DO NOT JOIN BOOST.

Not seeing what the problem is!

Posted on: December 26th, 2008 by Elizabeth Poland

The good: Great price, coverage area, friendly customer service (so far!). The bad: Very basic phone.Took about a day for txt messages I received to show who sent them. Now it works perfectly.Summary: I purchased this phone at Target for $30.00. I did so hesitantly because of some of the reviews here. However, Boost still seemed like the best deal for me. I'm doing the dollar a day plan. The phone is very basic but it works fine. I've not had any problems with missed calls or bad signal. Another reviewer posted a review a few weeks ago who lives in the same county as me. I've not had any of the problems they had! Also, there were plenty of 757 area codes available when I activated. The reception is great, phone is inexpensive, I've only had one run in with customer service (My husband accidentally clicked the wrong area code while activating my phone) and the agent was incredibly polite and gave me a new number within 2 minutes of us dialing the number. I've only had the phone for a few days but really, it's a dollar a day, I don't see how this is a bad deal.

excellent company

Posted on: December 16th, 2008 by Anonymous

The good: outstanding call quality! The bad: noneSummary: Boostmobile is an excellent company for people who want nextel features as well as the walkie talkie. besides i don't see what's wrong with them, they have excellent reception on the nextel's national network and great call quality.in my view i prefer this company over companies like t-mobile and verizon anyways. also for those who have bad comments i say:get a life you inferior rodents. i only wish they had more phones espeacially the new nextel blackberry curve that was released other than that nextel, boost, sprint you rock! i'm now 16 years old and i have an i880grey using boostmobile's service and it's excellent. i've been with them for more than 2 years and i've had no problem. Nextel, boost fan for ever.

DONT USE BOOST MOBILE

Posted on: December 5th, 2008 by Micii Rowley

I have had many cell phones over the past couple years and i cant seem to find one that works for me. Boost mobile would have to be one of the worst (besides virgin mobile), You barely get any bars and the reception is absolutly horrible when your talking, the phone cuts out so much that there isnt a point in having it. The phone itself was over $100 and I was supposed to get a free month when the cell phone was bought but that didnt happen. The customer service sucks, there is none what so ever, my phone wont take pictures anymore and it wont store anything, im only getting some of my text and only some of my text messeges are getting sent and FORGET about picture texting and making and receiving phone calls...need i mention this is only the second month i have had it?!!!?!?

Service in places that the map says doesnt

Posted on: November 15th, 2008 by Julian Pillars

The good: Pay as you go plans are good, PTT is greatThe bad: Phones are the plastic counterparts of Nextel's, customer service is a joke if you need it, it should just redirect to a Nextel TechSummary: I got couple of the boost 335s, I gave them to my brother and the other one to my parents... it worked well in a few places where BOTH Sprint's and Boost online maps says it doesnt, even the PTT was clear

Pretty good

Posted on: November 10th, 2008 by John Smith

The good: Great coverage cool phonesThe bad: noneSummary: I think that the people who are writing the horrible reviews are ridiculous it's like all people do these days is complain complain complain and can never be satisified with anything that they have, I mean of course every company has its problems but I bet when you get a different phone with a different company you will have similar problems or different ones. I have had my phone for two years now and it works fine for a PREPAID phone I don;t expect it to work miracles. Come on people quit being haters on a fine company

Not happy

Posted on: September 6th, 2008 by Us and our 10 yo son Smith

The good: I'm still thinking of something positive to say.The bad: You are filled with empty promises, no refund, service not fully functional, they dont fullfill their servicesSummary: Our 10 year old son saved up his money to buy this phone, did pre-pay ( $1 day unlimited text, etc) and we have spent hours upon hours with customer service who knows nothing, talked to supervisors who give you empty promises, etcCant send outgoing texts to anyone. Spent $20 on pre-pay card, and signed up for the $1 a day as said above. Called after activated when noticed we couldnt send texts, they said 24 hours. Waited til next day, said 2 days. Waited, said 4 days, waited said 6 days, now they say a few more days. They say they cant refund the $ we spent for service. They keep telling you to wait so you dont have anything for them to refund you later down the road. We feel scammed, and imagine how a 10 year old feels! He is very upset. We wanted him to learn responsibility , he's learning that big companies screw you out of your money. p.s. If you call customer service, it is only a calling center for Boost Mobile. Were told that tonight by Supervisor. Is no direct number to anyone for Boost Mobile.

Don't be sucked in!

Posted on: September 4th, 2008 by Nancy S

The good: Nice camera, good sound, pleasant ring. The bad: Unable to get # w/ my area code (unreal!)No tech support available. GPS not navigational like pic in booklet.Unable to reply to text msgs 24 hrs or more.Wireless web pd. for unable to access.Phone is confusing and user unfriendly.Summary: The i855 model looks nice enough with pleasant blue lights and the camera is decent but beware of the set-up and lack of tech support. Most of the other reviewers have pretty much covered the cons. Don't go with Boost, at least not in Central/Eastern Virginia Area 757. I was unable to even get a 757 area number. They told me to keep checking back, which I did. Can you believe they were "out of area 757 phone numbers"? So create some new ones already! Sending and picking up messages was a b**ch. I was unable to reply to any texts msgs for 2 days! I followed directions to download GPS navigation but it never worked and when I called (2 times) the Rep said there wasn't actually navigational GPS other than the usual locator GPS for use by law enforcement if people are looking for me! There was NO tech support. The rep said she was transferring me to tech but nobody ever answered. Moving through the menu is difficult because you have to scroll endlessly. I have used a half dozen phone brands and several mobile carrier companies and never had this much difficulty setting up my personal preferences or downloads. One important issue for me is that There is no mail icon key on my model. I used it a lot on my other phones and don't like having to surf the menu to get my messages. Plus hitting the back button in the menu pull-downs doesn't always work and frequently took me all the way back to the main menu. When I purchased Wireless Web they started charging me $.99/day immediately even though I still haven't gotten web access. I plan to go back to Virgin Mobile or Net 10. If this is your first phone, and you've never used anything better, you might think it's great -- but for veteran phone users activating with Boost is an exercise in frustration.
