they make me wanna kill myself

Posted on: June 29th, 2009 by B S

The good: popular phones, not neccesarily the best thoThe bad: -too much money for moderate services-most calls r forwarded directly to my voicemail-recieve voicemails an hour to 3 days after theyre left, lost my job-texts are delayed (sent and recieved)-customer service takes hours to get anything done and i wind up having to call back on a weekly basis to fix something-double billed consistantly when i had automatic payments-lots of "mistakes" that caused overagesSummary: these guys r a bunch of con men. i had no problems in the 5 years i had cellone, not even once... att takes over and im having my phone service dropped randomly for 3-5 hours at a time (unaccaptable). they charge more for everything cellone provided adn its lower quality service at that (I cant stress that enough!!!!). i had an iPhone and it was junk, its a toy not a tool.

Very Happy

Posted on: May 21st, 2009 by Chris Baker

The good: Good service (very few dropped calls), Good customer support, clear and concise billing. The bad: A bit pricey, as with many wireless carriers they strip off manufacturer's software and add their own on cell phones. Summary: I have been with ATT for 14 years and not had any major problems. This year I am going with an unlocked Nokia phone (no contract and I get Nokia software). There is a local service (mobi PCS) that offers cheaper service, but I have heard from friends that they had a lot of dropped calls and finally switched back to a major carrier. I use my phone for business and reliability is very important.

ATT are liars

Posted on: May 20th, 2009 by Melanie Lewis

The good: NoneThe bad: rotten customer service/will not live up to their promisesSummary: I had been with ATT who was bought out by Suncom. Once the buy out was announced, I called ATT and asked them if I was unhappy with the service once the buyout was complete, could I drop the plan. I was told yes if I dropped within 30 days. Once the buyout was complete and ATT was Suncom, my service with them suffered. Dropped calls were common and the price increased. I called to cancel my service and was encouraged to give them one more month and that the service would be better as they were switching over towers. Again I was told that I could drop if the service didn't improve once everything got settled with the new company. A second month passed and still the calls were dropped often. I hated it! I called to drop the service and was told that I would have to pay $200 to get out of my contract because I had not dropped within the 30 day time frame. I kept ATT until the contract was finished and then switched to NTelos.

Crap

Posted on: May 20th, 2009 by Thomas H

The good: Can't think of any.The bad: Dropped calls. No reception. Can't even consistently access voice mail from a land line.Summary: I switched from Verizon because Verizon marketing was annoying. Big mistake. ATT services is garbage. No reception. Dropped calls. Can't even access my voice mail by a land line because of technical difficulties at ATT. Can't get a human on the phone to fix the problem. If you can actually talk to a person, they give you bullshit excuses. I can almost never even make a call from my office at the highest elevation in heavily populated southern Baltimore county. I'm way overdue to switch service.

Don't get fooled by Roll-Over Minutes

Posted on: May 12th, 2009 by Naomi Williamson

The good: slick advertising that makes you think you can save money with roll-over minutesThe bad: Phone quality, phone logic set up, service, attitude Summary: I switched from Verizon to AT&T thinking I'd save money with roll-over minutes. Every feature of the way the phones are set up-with internet access as the default, to higher charges for everything else (e.g., text messages)-ensures that you will never realize a cost benefit from roll-over minutes. After I switched, we were unhappy with the quality of the phones (cheap appearance), the way they worked (more strokes for basic functions), missed calls...I could go on. We didn't switch thinking we were just trying AT&T out, but the final straw was when we were still returning/exchanging defective phones and calling for help with the transition, I hadn't paid our initial bill. I was past the 30 day trial period. They didn't email, they didn't call, they didn't text ... they just cut off my service dead cold. They had sent one piece of snail mail - which I didn't see until my phone went dead. It's not like they didn't have my cell number or my email. They just didn't care now that I was past 30 days. It had taken only 45 days for me to hate their phones, their service and everything about how they do business. I realized then that I could not tolerate being in a relationship with them for 2 years. I sent them the $230.57 I owed for activation and service to that date and returned the phones with a detailed explanation about why I didn't want to be a customer of theirs. They turned me over to an aggressive collection agency (Southwest Credit) who didn't care about anything in my letter or the reasons for my termination of the customer relationship. They demanded I pay AN ADDITIONAL $1,084. All three credit reporting agencies have lowered my score. My regret is that I sent them the $230 in the first place. They didn't care why I left, only took advantage of the fact that I didn't reach hatred until after the 30 day period. I strongly advise you not to try them, but if you do, don't miss your 30 day window. Because they will screw you to the wall. I can't imagine hating a company more than I do AT&T. If I could rate them worse than "poor" I would. You are warned. Verizon may not have roll-over minutes, but they are up-front about their charging structure and responsive to my question, "How can I bring down my phone bill?" when I call.

Great Service- glad switched

Posted on: May 7th, 2009 by Anonymous

I switched from T-mobile because of its Bad Customer Service, bars, droped calls. Made me wait 2 hours Paying for 2 phones $220 no addons. I joined At&t who's customer care actually cares they fixed my problems in just a matter of minutes and were very nice. I didn't have to wait the next bill cycle to get my plan or features changed. I get bars everywhere tmobile was not able to. People told me Tmobile's problem is temp. and will be fixed in about a month two months later still like that. I even talked to my friend who is an manager at tmobile(he doesn't use tmobile himself hates it) and he said this problem isn't a temp. problem this will be a problem. Att has higher pricing than tmobile but is way worth it...

Over all great service

Posted on: April 6th, 2009 by Anonymous

The good: great calling service. Pricing is a little higher than some of the other companies. The bad: Charged for text messages even after blocking that feature!Summary: Very dependable service across the country. I full-time in an RV and have service throughout most of my travels. I have traveled with many other people using other Cell companies, they end up having to use my phone to make calls, as their phones had no service. Prices are a little higher than some of the other companies but I feel they are worth it due to the reliable coverage I get.I think the phone and services you use makes a huge difference in how well any cell service works. I use the Sony Ericsson W300i and have had no issues. I do not text or use the internet services.I have thought about switching to Sprint, because of their $99.99 everything plan, but changed my mind after talking to current Sprint users. I did not hear any say they were happy with Sprint. 5 out of 5 bad reviews, tells me to stay with AT&T
