The good: Good service in BrooklynThe bad: Dropped calls while drivingSummary: I have generally been pleased with cingular's service while I'm in my home in Brooklyn. However, I've had issues with dropped calls when I'm driving between my office, in Manhattan, and my home.

cell phone carrier

Posted on: November 27th, 2006 by Kenny Ng

The good: They have decent phones, coverage. The bad: Drop calls, Summary: I would recommend Cingular to anyone who wants a cell phone. Their service and coverage is great. Prices could be better but it's competative. I haven't had any trouble with them for the past 7 years.

Poor customer service

Posted on: November 18th, 2006 by Brent Corrigan

The good: Free mobile-to-mobile calling to all Cingular Orange and Cingular Blue (AT&T) subscribers. The bad: Very little support and services for AT&T subscribers.Summary: Customer service reps are inconsistant with information they give from one another, not very well trained in the finer details of their products and services, and not experienced enough to handle complex calls and issues. I often have to make several calls to resolve service, account, and especially billing issues. If I reach an outsourced CSR, I am transferred several times before I am helped by a more experienced rep or a supervisor.23 months ago, I wanted to add one extra line of service to a Family plan. The rep added two individual lines, removed my Early Evenings from all lines, which I grandfathered in from AT&T, renewed by contract on all my lines, and gave me a 786 area code. It took me 3 days and countless hours on the phone to get this fixed. They finally removed the extra line added in error, restored my promotional features, converted all lines to a Family plan, and gave me a 305 area code which I asked for. The only thing I could not negotiate was the contract. Next month is the 24th month, and I'm switching to T-Mo.

So many drops/ lost calls

Posted on: November 13th, 2006 by kieumy tran

I used to have Verizon wireless, their signal is great here in South Carolina, but their company usually automatic put me on a new contract everytime i change my rate plan or have my phone repair or after two years contact end, their salesman called me to get verbal agreement to renew contract or they would disconnect the service. I decided to switch to Cingular because they are legitimate and honest to foreigner customers. But calls drop and lost all the times. I still have one more year on contract. T-mobile is what i have in mind, but they are not provide service here though.

what the.....?

Posted on: November 11th, 2006 by Mike Besser

The good: They have great service and signal...when i'm in the right areas. The bad: I don't have dropped calls...my calls just disappear. Summary: I can be carring on a conversation, and the next thing I know we cannot hear each other. The call has not been dropped, we just can't communicate. I think this is how they get away with saying they have the "fewest dropped calls". They haven't spoken to me yet.

TOO Many dropped calls!

Posted on: November 10th, 2006 by Gail V

The good: Rollover minutes are great to have, customer service workers are nice. The bad: They advertise the lowest dropped calls yet I have so many it is crazy. Plus, I have no clue as to how to get credit for the dropped calls. Any time you want to get a new phone you get hooked into a new two year contract!Summary: I want to desperately DROP this carrier, yet if I do I will get charged 150.00 per line for early termination. I have constant static or poor reception even after upgrading my phone. My son who has the Razr which is a top of the line phone doesn't seem to have the same problems, yet is that right? I only bought that model for him as it had more services, never believing it would give him better reception! I am supposed to have combined billing with my land line phone service, internet service, yet in the year that I have had this service there have been three months that this hasn't happened which can lead to GREAT confusion in the long run. IF I want to pay just my cell bill on line, I have to log into a totally different site which isn't that user friendly. Some of these problems have come into play since the merger.

Service and Signal is good!

Posted on: November 2nd, 2006 by Ronick Cook

The good: Good Service, Good Signal in most area, Clear CallsThe bad: Weak Signal inside of house, Dropped calls while travelingSummary: Overall I would have to say I like Cingular Service. I like in an Area where there are very few cellular carriers around. Cingular has coverage where most do not. Although it may not work everywhere. It works when I need it most.
