Sony is making a new Xperia product announcement on September 17, but it looks like the device has leaked out in full today.

New leaks have revealed the Sony Xperia 5 II. The image shared by Evan Blass shows a tall, 21:9 display like the Xperia 1 II that launched earlier this year plus a triple rear camera setup and the dedicated camera button that Sony's smartphones have become known for.

Meanwhile, many of the Xperia 5 II's specs have leaked out as well, courtesy of Android Authority. The phone is said to have a 6.1-inch Full HD+ OLED display with 21:9 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate, which is an upgrade from the 60Hz display on the Xperia 1 II.

Inside of the Sony Xperia 5 II is said to be a Snapdragon 865 processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card slot. A 4000mAh battery is included, too, just like the Xperia 1 II, as is a USB-C port for fast charging and a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is a feature that's becoming uncommon among flagship smartphones.

The cameras on Sony's upcoming phone reportedly include a 12MP main camera with f/1.7 aperture, a 12MP telephoto cam with 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera with 124-degree field of view. Video recording features include 4K HDR at up to 120fps plus OIS and EIS to help keep your videos steady.

All of those features are said to be crammed into a body that measures 158mm x 68mm x 8mm. To compare, the Xperia 1 II is 166mm x 72mm x 7.9mm.

While the Xperia 5 II has many of the same features of the Xperia 1 II that launched earlier this year, that 120Hz display on the new model is a significant upgrade. A high refresh rate display is becoming a must-have feature for new flagship smartphones, and so it's good to see Sony adopting it.

There's no word yet on when the Xperia 5 II might launch or how much it might cost when it does. To compare, the Xperia 1 II sells for $1,199.99. The good news is that with Sony holding an Xperia-related announcement on September 17, we may not have to wait long before all is revealed.
