Google announced today that it's improving Snapshot, a Google Assistant feature that first launched two years ago to help you know what the day has in store for you.
First up, you can now easily access your Snapshot by saying "Hey Google, show me my day." This should help you get to Snapshot faster than the current method, which is accessing the Google Assistant and then tapping a button in the lower left corner.
Snapshot already shows you important things like your agenda, commute times, and reminders for things like credit card payments. Now you'll start to see a summary of your other tasks right at the top. This can include things like upcoming birthdays and holidays.
Speaking of birthdays, Snapshot is getting the ability to send you notifications for upcoming birthdays. This feature is rolling out first in English-speaking markets. When you tap on a birthday notification, you'll be sent to the corresponding Snapshot card to take action, including suggestions like calling, texting, or singing a personalized birthday song.
Also coming to Snapshot are tailored recommendations based on your preferences for recipes, podcasts, and nearby restaurants. This means Google Assistant could show you things like recommendations for dinner and places nearby that deliver, new recipes for you to try, and new podcasts to listen to.
