The OnePlus Nord isn't officially launching in the US, but OnePlus has said that a lower-cost Nord-branded phone will be coming stateside later this year. Today we've gotten some details on what that phone might be.
A new low-cost OnePlus phone codenamed "Clover" is said to be in the works. According to a report from Android Central, this OnePlus Clover is launching "imminently" and it'll be available globally, including in the US.
It's said that the OnePlus Clover will cost around $200. That's pretty aggressive pricing and would make it the lowest-cost OnePlus phone we've seen in the US to date, even lower than the aggressively priced OnePlus X, which cost $249 when it launched in 2015.
So what kind of specs can you get for a $200 phone from OnePlus? The Clover is said to feature a 6.52-inch 1560x720 LCD screen and triple rear camera setup that includes 13MP, 2MP, and 2MP snappers. A rear fingerprint reader is on the back of the Clover, too.
Inside the device is said to be an octa-core Snapdragon 460 processor along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. There will reportedly be a microSD card slot so you can add more storage if you need it.
OnePlus is said to be packing a whopping 6000mAh battery into the Clover, which could get you up to two days of battery life on a single charge. Also expected to be included is 18W fast charging to help you recharge that big battery more quickly, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and 4G connectivity.
Overall those specs are about what you'd expect from a $200 phone. It's not high-end, but the OnePlus Clover could end up being a solid choice for people in the market for a low-cost phone, especially for folks who place a priority on long battery life.
