Google recently added a new Cards & Passes feature to Pixel phones, allowing you to quickly access your Google Pay credit cards, tickets, and passes just by holding down the power button on your phone. With Android 11, holding the power button may give you even more shortcuts.
The new Android 11 power menu has leaked out, showing the addition of smart home quick controls. The image comes from an "Android R changes" document that was leaked by Twitter user @deletescape (via Android Police), showing toggles for smart lights, locks, cameras, thermostats, and more.
The documentation also explains that you'll be able to tap these toggles to turn the smart home device on or off, while a long press will either give you more options for that device or send you to the related app.
Another image from the leaked document that offers a closer look at what the smart home toggles will look like when they're on and off.
While this leaked power button menu does look pretty busy, it also gives you access to a lot of features and actions with the quick and easy action of holding down your phone's power button. This could also help clean up your home screen a bit since you wouldn't necessarily need shortcuts or widgets for these actions because they'd be in the power menu.
Google has said that Android 11 will release in Q3 2020.
