The same day that Apple released a new iOS update for the public, it's also launched the first beta of its next big iOS release.
iOS 13.5.5 beta 1 is now available to registered developers and public testers (via MacRumors). If you've signed up for Apple's developer program, you can get this update over the air or through Apple's Developer Center on the web. If you're interested in being a public tester, you can sign up for Apple's Beta Software Program.
Because this is a 13.x.x release and iOS 14 is getting closer, iOS 13.5.5 will likely be a smaller update. That don't mean that there won't be any new features, though, because MacRumors found icons for Apple News+ Audio in iOS 13.5.5, suggesting that that feature could launch with this update. "Listen to a quick recap of today's top stories," reads a description of Apple News+ Audio found inside this iOS 13.5.5 beta.
Apple hasn't said when iOS 13.5.5 will be released to the public, but we'll likely see at least another few beta releases before it is.
