It was just a few days ago that the Galaxy Z Flip launched to consumers, but rumors about Samsung's next foldable are already starting to heat up.
The Galaxy Fold 2 (codenamed "Champ") could feature a 7.7-inch inner display, up from the 7.3-inch screen on the original Galaxy Fold. Max Weinbach, source of several accurate Galaxy S20 leaks, says that the Fold 2's inner display could feature either a hole-punch or even an under display camera. It's expected that the Fold 2 will use Ultra Thin Glass for its foldable display, just like the Z Flip.
The outer display of the Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to be improved, too. Weinbach says that the outer screen "should" be bigger than the original Fold's and that it'll have an Infinity V notch.
Around back, it's expected that the Galaxy Fold 2 will use the same camera setup as the Galaxy S20+. That means it could have a quad camera array that includes a 12MP wide angle camera with Super Speed Dual Pixel AF, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 64MP telephoto camera, and a DepthVision cam.
Another feature that's reportedly coming to the Galaxy Fold 2 is an S Pen stylus. Normally we see the S Pen reserved for Samsung's Galaxy Note phones, but with a 7.7-inch screen, a stylus could definitely be useful on the Galaxy Fold 2.
Finally, it's said that the Galaxy Fold 2 will use ceramic and stainless steel and that it'll be available in blue, silver, gold, pink, and black color options. A launch could happen as soon as July.
This Galaxy Fold 2 sounds like it could be a solid improvement over the original Fold. The bigger main display is a huge upgrade since having that large inner screen is one of the main selling points of foldable phones, and having an S Pen with the phone could make that large display even more attractive.
Given all these upgrades, it doesn't sound like the Galaxy Fold 2 will be a cheap device, but if a high-end foldable is what you're after, this one could deliver.
