With just a couple of weeks to go before the official introduction of the Galaxy Z Flip, a new report is claiming that that won't be the only foldable phone launched by Samsung this year.
A follow-up to the Galaxy Fold will reportedly launch in Q2 2020. That's according to XDA-Developers' Max Weinbach, the source of several Galaxy S20 leaks lately.
This next Galaxy Fold is rumored to be a pretty high-end device. It could be equipped with a Snapdragon 865 processor, 108MP camera, and 5G support. Also said to be included is an 8-inch display, which would be larger than the 7.3-inch screen on the Galaxy Fold, and ultra thin glass instead of the plastic used on the first Fold.
Finally, it's expected that an S Pen stylus will be included with the next Galaxy Fold, too.
The original Galaxy Fold is a well-specced device, boasting features like a Snapdragon 855 processor, 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of built-in storage, but this new model sounds like it could be quite an improvement. The ultra thin glass on the display could give a more premium feel and be more durable than the Galaxy Fold's plastic. Plus, the Snapdragon 865 is Qualcomm's current flagship processor, and 5G support would give you access to the carriers' newest networks.
Lots of folks would probably love the inclusion of an S Pen, too. Normally we only see a stylus on Samsung's Galaxy Note flagships, but an S Pen could be fun to use for taking notes and doodling on an 8-inch foldable display.
