At $1,980, the Samsung Galaxy Fold isn't exactly cheap. For folks who like the form factor of the Galaxy Fold but not the price, there's some good news today.
Samsung is reportedly working to make the next Galaxy Fold cheaper than the original model. A report from SamMobile claims that the Galaxy Fold 2 will launch with 256GB of base storage rather than 512GB like the Galaxy Fold and that the new model will have a lower starting price as a result.
There's no word on exactly what the Galaxy Fold 2's starting price might be.
Today's report also mentions that the Galaxy Fold 2 will be available with 512GB of storage if you don't mind paying more for extra built-in storage. Rumors say the Fold 2 will also feature a larger outer display than the 4.6-inch screen on the Fold, a bigger 7.7-inch internal display, and a hole-punch rather than a notch like on the original Fold.
The next Galaxy Fold will reportedly launch in Q3 2020.
Also expected to arrive later this year is a 5G version of the Galaxy Z Flip. A separate report from SamMobile says that Samsung is working on a 5G Galaxy Z Flip to help it maintain its status as one of the biggest 5G smartphone makers around.
Details on an exact launch date, price point, and other spec details for this 5G Galaxy Z Flip are still light. But if you want to be all-in on bleeding edge tech and get yourself a 5G Z Flip, you might be able to soon.
