Google Fi is bringing some of its special features to more phones today.
First up, Google says that Fi's spam call warnings and the ability to block specific numbers are now available on all phones compatible with Fi. That includes Android phones as well as iPhones.
Also expanding today are Fi's enhanced VPN and Wi-Fi calling features. All Android phones on Google Fi are getting access to the enhanced VPN network, which means that all of your cellular and Wi-Fi data will be encrypted and sent through Google's virtual private network. This feature is meant to help others from snooping on your online activity.
Meanwhile, Wi-Fi calling allows you to make and receive calls so long as you have a Wi-Fi connection. This feature works even when you don't have a cellular signal, so if you're in a cell deadspot but have access to a Wi-Fi network, you'll still be able to make calls.
