Twitter for Android is going dark.
Twitter today confirmed that its Lights Out mode is now available on Android. This new mode is meant to be a darker dark mode, giving you a blackout theme that'll be easier on your eyes at night and easier on your battery if you've got an OLED screen.
To enable the Lights Out mode, open the side menu bar in the Twitter app and tap the light icon in the lower left corner of the screen.
Welcome to the dark side, Android users. You can now go lights out on Twitter. pic.twitter.com/RpvstZvdnr

This feature first began appearing earlier this year, hitting iOS devices first and then the web version of Twitter. We hadn't heard much about the Lights Out feature for Android's Twitter app except that it was coming soon, and today Twitter surprised us all by rolling the feature out. It's great to see it finally arriving, especially now that Android 10 is here with a system-wide dark mode.
If you're using the Twitter app on Android, let us know when the Lights Out theme hits your device!
