The OnePlus 7T Pro may not be launching in the U.S., but the McLaren Edition is.
T-Mobile will launch the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Edition later this year. No pricing or precise launch timing has been revealed, but T-Mo says it'll share that information later.
On T-Mobile, the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Edition will utilize 600MHz 5G, which T-Mobile says will reach 200 million people by the end of 2019. While the speeds with 600MHz 5G may not be quite as fast as those with mmWave spectrum, the 600MHz airwaves will reach farther and have better building penetration.
Of course, if you're not one of the 200 million getting T-Mobile's 600MHz 5G this year, you'll still be able to use the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Edition on 4G LTE. T-Mobile says that the phone comes with "all the latest speed boosting technologies."
The McLaren Edition is the souped up version of the OnePlus 7T Pro that includes 12GB of RAM, up from 8GB in the non-McLaren model. It's also got orange accents, similar to supercar maker McLaren's signature Papaya Orange color, and a special pattern on its backside.
Other notable specs of the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Edition include a 6.67-inch 3120x1440 AMOLED screen with 90Hz refresh rate and in-display fingerprint sensor, a Snapdragon 855+ processor, 256GB of storage, and Android 10. There's a triple rear camera setup that includes a 48MP main sensor, 8MP telephoto with 3x zoom, and 16MP ultra-wide with 117-degree field of view, as well as a 16MP pop-up selfie cam. A 4085mAh battery powers the whole package, and there's support for Warp Charge 30T fast charging to help you quickly refill that battery when it gets low.
T-Mobile recently stopped selling the OnePlus 7 Pro to make room for the OnePlus 7T, and the move may have frustrated some folks who prefer the pop-up camera and no-notch display of the Pro models. Now we know that the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Edition will fill that hole. And while it probably won't be a cheap phone, we're glad to see OnePlus bringing its new McLaren Edition coming to the U.S. for those folks who are interested in it.
