Hours after a leak revealed what Apple Arcade is likely to cost when it launches, details on the price of Apple TV+ have also leaked out.
Apple is considering charging $9.99 per month for Apple TV+. That's according to sources speaking to Bloomberg, who add that it's likely that a free trial will be available to give consumers a taste of Apple TV+ before they begin paying for the service.
Today's report also says that Apple TV+ will launch by November. So far, Apple has only said that it will launch Apple TV+ this fall, and no pricing information has been officially announced.
When it comes to content, it's said that Apple TV+ will have a "small selection of shows" at first but that it will expand regularly over the following months.
A separate report from The Financial Times (via MacRumors) says that Apple could be spending up to $6 billion on original content for Apple TV+. Apple has reportedly spent hundreds of millions of dollars on its original show "The Morning Show" with Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carrell.
It's said that Apple originally planned to spend $1 billion on original content for Apple TV+, but the company has now reportedly gone way beyond that. Streaming video is a crowded, competitive market with lots of great shows coming from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and others, and so Apple could be upping its budget for shows to help Apple TV+ catch on with consumers.
