This year has been a tough one so far for foldable smartphones, with both Huawei and Samsung's first folding handsets getting hit with delays. Now the Huawei Mate X is being delayed again.
There's "no possibility" that the Huawei Mate X will launch in September, Huawei told TechRadar today. The company added that the Mate X is not likely to be released before November, but Huawei does promise that the foldable Mate X will launch before 2019 is over.
This is the second time that the Mate X has been delayed, as it was originally slated to arrive in mid-2019 but was then pushed back to September. Huawei said at that time that it was being more "cautious" with the Mate X following the whole situation with the Samsung Galaxy Fold and its broken displays.
It's not know what's causing this latest Mate X delay. It's possible that Huawei is continuing to refine the design of the Mate X to make sure its first foldable smartphone works smoothly for the early adopters who buy one.
