It's widely expected that Apple will host an event in early September to show off its new iPhone hardware, and now the iOS 13 beta appears to have given us the date that Apple may be planning on.
An asset within the iOS 13 beta 7 update that was released today suggests that Apple will host its new iPhone event on Tuesday, September 10. Unearthed by iHelp BR (via 9to5Mac), the file shows an iOS 13 screenshot with September 10 as the date on the Calendar app. The name of the asset is "HoldForRelease".
While Apple hasn't officially announced a new iPhone event yet, it's highly likely that one will happen in early September. The company has introduced new iPhone hardware with events in the first half of September for several years now, including last year's iPhone XS and the iPhone X the year before that. All of those recent events have also taken place on a Tuesday or Wednesday, and September 10 falls on a Tuesday this year.
We'll have to wait for Apple to confirm its new iPhone event, but for now, it's looking like September 10 could be New iPhone Day this year.
Rumors say that Apple is prepping three new iPhone models for 2019, including new versions of the iPhone XS and XS Max as well as an iPhone XR follow-up. One of the major upgrades for the new models will be an additional rear camera sensor, meaning three cams on the back of the new XS and XS Max models and two cameras on the back of the new XR. This new camera on the back of all three phones will reportedly be a wide angle snapper.
