Verizon may be on the verge of refreshing its unlimited plans.
The Verizon website recently included a reference to "Do, Play, More Unlimited plans", which was discovered by folks on Reddit (via Droid-Life). The reference has since been removed, but since this is the internet, a screenshot of the reference was saved before Verizon could erase it.
Little is known about these new plans, but the reference does make it sound like they'll support 5G usage. "5G access requires line activation on select Unlimited plans; 5G access applied as long as line stays active on current Do, Play, More Unlimited plans," the page said.
Verizon currently offers three unlimited plans — Go, Above, and Beyond — but only the Above and Beyond plans support 5G access. Aside from 5G support, the differences between the three plans are related to data prioritization, video streaming quality, and mobile hotspot speeds.
It's unclear what the Do, Play, and More Unlimited plans will offer, but it does sound like all three will support 5G, which could give more customers access to Verizon's 5G network. It seems likely that if Verizon is refreshing its rate plans, it would make more changes than just giving all three 5G access, but we'll have to wait to find out what those tweaks are.
