Today is Apple's big "It's show time" event, and the company started things off with its new magazine service.
Apple News+ is Apple's new expanded version of Apple News that includes digital magazines. There are more than 300 magazines included in Apple News+, including categories like entertainment, fashion, news and politics, health, and lifestyle. Also included are premium digital subscriptions from the likes of theSkimm and Vulture, as well as newspapers like The Los Angeles Times and the Wall Street Journal.
With Apple News+, users can view a Live Cover of their magazines to bring the cover to life. New issues are downloaded automatically for offline reading, and Apple promises that you'll get human curation and personalization.
Apple News+ is launching today in the U.S. as well as Canada, where it'll be available in English and French. Apple also says it's got Canadian magazines as well as The Star newspaper. Apple plans to launch Apple News+ in Australia and Europe later this year.
As for pricing, Apple News+ will cost $9.99 per month. Family Sharing is included with your subscription, too, so your family members can read magazines with the service as well. And to let you get a feel for Apple News+ before you fork over $9.99 per month, you can get a free trial.
