Remember earlier today when Google said that Android 6.0 Marshmallow is on 0.3 percent of Android devices? Well now that number is going to grow just a bit.
HTC’s Mo Versi has announced that the HTC One M8 Google Play edition is now getting its update to Android 6.0 (build MRA58K). Screenshots shared by One M8 GPe owners show that the update is indeed hitting devices, weighing in at 450.4MB.
While there were a handful of Google Play edition devices that came out, Google appears to have killed the program off, ceasing sales of all phones a while ago and not announcing any new hardware. It’s good to see HTC and Google continue to show love to the One M8 GPe regardless, especially considering that the phone was released way back in March 2014. Not many other Android devices can say that they’re two and a half years old and getting the latest version of Android.
If you’ve got an HTC One M8 GPe, keep an eye out for Android 6.0, which should hit your phone in the coming days.
