Another high-end HTC One smartphone is here.
The HTC One ME has been made official with an official product page on HTC China’s website. The device looks as expected, which is a mashup of HTC’s One M9+ and E9+ phones: it’s got the 5.2-inch 2560x1440 display and fingerprint reader of the M9+ and the single, round 20-megapixel rear camera of the E9+.
Powering the HTC One ME is a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 2840mAh battery. Rounding out the new One’s spec list is 32GB of storage, a microSD slot, a 4-megapixel UltraPixel front camera, 4G LTE, and BoomSound front-facing speakers.
The HTC One ME will be sold in Rose Gold, Gold Sepia, and Meteor Gray color options. There’s no word yet on how much it’ll cost when it launches or if it’ll launch outside of Asia, but previous reports have suggested that this will be an Asia-only release.
The HTC One ME is an interesting device, combining features of two of HTC’s other high-end Android devices into a single smartphone. It’s this combination of a smallish 5.2-inch high-res display, fingerprint reader, and 20-megapixel rear camera that could make the One ME appealing to a lot of folks, but it looks like the device is going to be see a fairly limited release, which is sure to disappoint Android fans in markets outside of China.
