If you’ve got an Android Wear smartwatch, your wearable is about to become a bit more useful.
Google is updating its Android Device Manager app to add support for Android Wear. The feature will allow you to locate your lost Android device by telling your smartwatch to find your phone. You can do this with your voice by saying “Ok, Google. Start. Find my phone.” or by selecting the “find my phone” option in your Android Wear device’s Start menu. When selected, the feature will make your phone ring at full volume.
Google says that the new feature will roll out to all Android Wear devices over the coming weeks. There are a number of Bluetooth devices out there dedicated to helping you find your keys, phone, or some other valuable, and so adding the feature to a smartwatch seems like a natural fit. If you’ve got an Android Wear smartwatch, keep an eye out for this new feature.
