A new Google-made Android app has hit the Play Store.
Android Auto is a new app that’ll enable your Android 5.0-powered smartphone to work with your in-car Android Auto head unit. Since Android Auto works by beaming your phone’s content to your Android Auto head unit, you’ll need this app to actually get your music, voice navigation, and messaging from your handset and onto your car’s display.
The Android Auto app requires a smartphone running Android 5.0 or higher as well as a car or aftermarket head unit with Android Auto.
Android Auto is still in its infancy, but now that the app has hit Google Play, you know that you’ll be ready to go when you actually get an Android Auto-compatible car or head unit. While there’s nothing surprising about the app or its features, the icon and screenshots look nice and very Material Design-y.
Are any of you thinking about getting an Android Auto car or head unit?
